There are so many belief & stories associated with Henna.......
  • If you are an invitee and host doesn't offer you henna, it's an insult & same goes vice versa. If you are offered henna by the host & if you turn down, that's a big insult & is interpreted as you are not part of the celebration.
  • Also it’s believed the darker the color of bridal henna, stronger the bond between the couple.
  • As long as bride has henna on her hands, she is forbidden from cooking & doing any household work (how cool is that :). As a female i loved this & wish my henna would have never fade away ).
  • Henna artist hides groom’s initials somewhere in the intricate henna design & groom is challenged to find it. No matter if he can or cannot, he has to pay very dearly to get a glimpse of the bride’s henna.
Henna and wedding goes hand in hand and are inseparable. ]]>
<![CDATA[Hair Henna]]>Mon, 11 Jan 2016 20:14:55 GMThttp://hennaservices.com/henna-blog/hair-hennaHenna is more popular these days for adorning the body & skin via tattooing & staining the skin but did you know henna was widely used to color hair back in the days. Henna stains vibrant brownish red color on hair but that’s not about it. Henna is used not only for it’s color but for the cool goodies it’s packed with as well.

Since there are no chemicals added to the henna paste, it gives life to the hair & unlike other unnatural hair color products; henna doesn’t make hair dry & rough.

Here are some hair health benefits henna offers:-

Henna makes hair glossy, healthy and voluminous.

It repairs the damaged hair strands and restores the acid-alkaline balance of the scalp.

It is an amazing conditioner for hair that protects the hair strands by building a protective layer and locking the nutrients and moisture.

It is the best and safest way to color your hair that has no ammonia, chemicals, and toxins.

Henna can be used to treat dandruff and scalp infections effectively.

Promotes hair growth due to antibacterial and anti fungal properties.

Be it for fashion, healing/ medicinal reason, on skin or on hair......... henna rocks.

<![CDATA[HENNA and BODY PART]]>Tue, 17 Mar 2015 18:01:13 GMThttp://hennaservices.com/henna-blog/henna-and-body-partApart from the designs having a specific meanings, which part of the body you have the design on also holds significance & speaks volumes. For instance, having a henna design on your palms signifies an offering from you to the world.
A henna design on the back of your hand symbolises protection while the feet are our only point of contact with earth, so whatever design you get should be aimed at strengthening the bond between your body and the earth.
So, you might want to choose a design that has strong qualities associated with it.

The word tattoo comes from the Tahitian word "Tattau" means to mark and an art needed to be showcased.
Tattoo is also believed to be derived from the Polynesian word, 'tatao', which literally means to tap or to mark someone. The word was coined by Captain James Cook in 1769.
Henna is known locally throughout the Middle East and North Africa as ‘Henna’ or ‘Hene’
It is also known as ‘Mendhi’ or ‘Mehendi’ in India & Pakistan.

<![CDATA[Henna History]]>Thu, 24 Jan 2013 18:05:50 GMThttp://hennaservices.com/henna-blog/henna-historyHenna art has more than one origin. People discovered and used the henna plant in many different places across its growth range, and in each place they developed different traditions and practices according to their needs and beliefs.

The history and origin of Henna is hard to trace with centuries of migration and cultural interaction it is difficult to determine where particular traditions began. There is very persuasive evidence that the Neolithic people in Catal Huyuk, in the 7th millennium BC, used henna to ornament their hands in connection with their fertility goddess.

The most popular traditional use is tied closely with weddings and bridal preparation.
